Lansdowne Development

This early phase Lansdowne master plan revolved around celebrating its rich history as a cultural hub and enhancing it for future generations. The vision revolved around a vibrant urban district for residents, tourists, and the city as a whole. The entire site is envisioned as a year-round place for events, festivals, and leisure activities. It seamlessly integrates the stadium, mixed-use buildings, heritage structures, the Rideau Canal, and community spaces. Interesting public spaces like sculptures, fountains, and bandshells will be incorporated, alongside features that cater to pedestrians, cyclists, boaters, and drivers. The plan emphasizes the importance of the great lawn, heritage buildings, and other public spaces in supporting year-round programming. This includes impromptu community activities and events that strengthen Lansdowne’s role as the “front door” to the Rideau Canal.
