— PROJECT DETAILS
Elements of the former Maple Leaf Gardens were incorporated throughout Toronto Metropolitan University’s Mattamy Athletic Centre, in order to reflect its status as a national historic monument. The seating bowl design, for example, recalls the original arena configuration and chairs from the Gardens are incorporated in certain sections. The renovation provided the University 220,000 SF of new student fitness, athletic training, and multi-use space for the university’s 28,000 students. The facility is home to the TMU's varsity hockey, basketball, and volleyball teams.
