One University

Located at University Avenue and York Street, this 300,000 square foot office building with underground parking for 180 cars was completed in 1986. The unique curtain wall has special patina-finished copper panels and frame, silver reflective bulkheads and the first energy-efficient low “E”-coated green glass to be used in Canada. The massing for this unusual triangular site was achieved through density transfer from other sites, negotiated with the City of Toronto. In addition to providing the architectural and interior design for the building, our firm planned and designed the interiors and furnishings for the five floors occupied by Metropolitan Life.
